When Mafe heard about the abandoned dog, she immediately traveled to the remote town where the dog was found. It took her some time, but she eventually located the pup.

Upon meeting Navidad, Mafe was shocked by her condition. The dog had become so desensitized to fear.

Navidad seemed to trust that these people had her best interests at heart. Mafe brought her to the rescue center to see a veterinarian.

At the rescue, Navidad was initially confused and scared. Mafe shared, “When we got to the rescue, she was so confused and scared.”

After her condition improved, Navidad was given a wheelchair. Mafe said: “She had some difficulty getting used to it. But then she seemed so happy every time she went for a walk.”

Navidad formed a strong bond with her rescuer and enjoyed going on walks, which helped her get better at using the wheelchair.

Another significant milestone was that Navidad’s skin healed well, and she regained a healthy weight.

Seeing her progress, Mafe decided it was time for Navidad to move to an animal sanctuary, where she could enjoy life while waiting for a new family.

Currently, Navidad is thriving in the care of her rescuers, and it’s heartwarming to witness her transformation.

Mafe expressed a desire to adopt Navidad but acknowledged, “I would love to adopt Navidad, but I spend every day of my life trying to rescue other dogs just like her, so I know she deserves a family that can give her all the time she deserves.”

While Navidad’s future remains uncertain, she is undoubtedly thriving at the sanctuary and will surely find a loving home soon.
