The locals discovered Honey when she was just a few weeks old. She was missing parts of her hind legs, severely underweight, and had painful sores. She was also incredibly scared of people. “Being so young and left to completely fend for herself, Honey came in terrified of people,” RP shared on Facebook.

Becca and her team first met Honey during a feeding run. It was heartbreaking to see a dog in such a state, but Rescue PAWS knew they had to act. They brought her to the rescue, bathed her, and bandaged her wounds. Yet, Honey remained extremely nervous and hid in a corner, running away whenever approached.

Then, a special person entered her life. Holly, a dedicated volunteer, spent countless hours near Honey, speaking softly and waiting patiently. And then, the miracle happened—Honey crawled into Holly’s lap, asking for belly rubs. It was a breakthrough, marking the beginning of Honey’s trust in humans.

Each day, Honey gradually emerged from her shell, revealing her true personality. Her caregivers were thrilled to witness her transformation. “Honey is now gradually coming out of her shell and showing her incredibly whacky character,” they posted. With only her front legs, she would run circles around others and loved beach walks!
