A surrendered pup, Peanut Butter, faced a rough start after being abandoned by her family when she needed them most. After surviving a brutal dog attack, she found herself at the Metro East Humane Society in a state of deep trauma.
During her initial examination, Peanut Butter remained motionless, her eyes filled with unshed tears. The sight of her on the surgery table, nearly catatonic, broke the hearts of the veterinary team. They could see she was still in shock.

Unable to watch her suffer, Mady O’Reilly, a compassionate volunteer, decided to foster Peanut Butter. O’Reilly and her family gave the pup the space and time she needed to decompress and heal.
