From Rags to Riches: The Astounding Journey of a Job Site Kitten

A Rough Start

A young kitten was discovered in dire condition behind a tire at a job site. Emaciated and covered in fleas, she was missing a lot of fur. Despite her condition, she showed a spark of hope that led her rescuers to reach out for help.

The kitten was immediately taken to Deej, the cofounder of Inked Kittens Club. Upon arrival, it was evident she was seriously ill. Deej recalled, “As soon as she arrived at my place that afternoon, it was clear she was very sick.”

Named Furby, the kitten used all her strength to survive. Her willpower to eat and fight for her life was remarkable. She seemed to understand she was finally in a safe place and showed her gratitude with gentle purring.

At just seven weeks old, Furby was battling multiple health issues, including a dangerous infection with a low survival rate for her age. She needed intensive daily care to have any chance of recovery.

Turning the Tide

Despite the odds, Furby began to improve. After a week of fluids, syringe-feeding, and medications, she started to regain her appetite. Deej mentioned, “(When) she started to willingly eat on her own, I knew we were in the home stretch of getting her on the mend.”

Initially, Furby stayed glued to her bed, only moving to use the litter box. One day, she decided to trust her new environment. From that moment on, she and Deej became inseparable.

Due to severe malnutrition, Furby had lost a significant amount of fur. But as she gained weight, her fur began to grow back, and her playful personality started to shine through.

“She seems to have two faces: a flat brow grumpy face or a tongue blep,” Deej shared. Her unique expressions made her even more endearing to her rescuers.

A New Lease on Life

With her renewed energy, Furby began to seek more attention. “She’s decided pets are more important than eating,” Deej noted. Furby would reach out with her paw if she felt she wasn’t getting enough affection, all while keeping her tongue adorably out.

Once Furby was healthy enough to socialize, she was thrilled to meet other cats. She quickly bonded with her new feline friends, teaching them how to play with toys and respecting boundaries.
