Unfortunate Fate
A sweet pup was cruelly discarded from a truck into a landfill. Initially, she believed it was a mistake and tried to chase after the truck. Her efforts were in vain, and she collapsed on the road, too sick to continue.
Despite her dire condition, she attempted to crawl, showcasing her resilience. Fortunately, rescuers noticed her struggle and immediately intervened. Her enormous belly led them to believe she was pregnant, but that wasn’t the case.
The rescuers discovered that her swollen belly, resembling a balloon, was not due to pregnancy. Instead, she was severely malnourished, with her ribs and spine painfully visible.
When she was brought to the vet, the doctors were stunned. Her swollen stomach was filled with fluid, likely a result of liver failure. Additionally, she had a severely infected wound on her leg, hindering her ability to walk.
Helping Hands
This brave girl finally found herself in a safe place where she could receive the care she desperately needed. The rescuers fed her, and she eagerly devoured the food, preparing her for the upcoming procedures.
The vets had to drain her stomach multiple times due to the excessive fluid. In the end, they removed more than a gallon of liquid from her belly. This was just the beginning of her healing journey.
Nursing her back to health required a lot of medication and constant observation. Since she had liver failure, her recovery was closely monitored. After a month and a half at the vet, she was finally ready to leave.
The most dedicated caregiver couldn’t bear to part with her. They decided to adopt her, naming her Azalea, and welcomed her into a loving home.
A New Beginning
Azalea’s new family already had other dogs, providing her with plenty of company. She quickly learned the joys of being a dog, playing and bonding with her new furry friends.
Two weeks later, a vet check-up revealed that her medications were working wonders. Her liver was improving, and she was on the path to recovery.
The vets were astonished to see Azalea’s transformation. Once a depressed pup, she now ran around joyfully, seeking attention and affection from everyone she met.
Azalea’s happiness was contagious. Her new family and friends couldn’t get enough of her playful and loving nature.
