Duke, the friendly giant, has an incredible way of welcoming his family. Each time Judy, his human, returns, Duke ensures she receives the sweetest greeting. It doesn’t matter if she’s been gone for days or just minutes.
Judy shared, “Anybody that comes in the house, he grabs whatever is beside him. From shoes. To socks. To toys. He has to present something. He’s like, ‘Here. Welcome to my home’.”
To keep up this delightful habit, Duke strategically places toys around the house, always ready with a gift for any visitor. His joy is contagious, and he’s known to brighten the day of anyone who steps onto their lawn, including delivery drivers.
“When I used to take him to my daughter’s soccer games, people weren’t watching the game. People were all around him,” Judy reminisced. Duke’s magnetic personality draws everyone in.
Best Friends
Though Duke is adored by all, he shares an exceptionally tight bond with Judy’s mother. He is more than just a pet; he’s family.
“My mother has the best connection. She considers Duke her own pet. I try to bring him over as much as I can. It’s just the highlight of her day,” Judy said.
Every visit to Nana’s house is a joyful event. Duke rushes in with enthusiasm, showering her with affectionate kisses, and Nana couldn’t be happier.
True to his nature, Duke never arrives empty-handed. He always brings a small gift, making every visit even more special.

“He has a pretty darn good life, and I’m glad that he is with us because sometimes you only get once in a lifetime to have a dog like this. And he means the world to us. I just, I love him to pieces,” Judy expressed.
