An Unusual Discovery
One typical evening, Jen Edmondson from southeastern Texas had an encounter that would change her life. As she walked past her mailbox, she noticed two large black eyes staring at her from the bushes. Curiosity and concern drew her closer, only to find a lost and lonely white dog with a gentle gaze.
He seemed to be pleading for help without uttering a word. Despite his situation, the dog exhibited a calm and friendly demeanor, suggesting he once had a home. Jen quickly took a video and shared it on social media, hoping to find the dog’s family.
“Found him alone and wandering. Turns out he’s super sweet, but no one has claimed him. So we’re fostering him with a local rescue organization,” Jen posted on her TikTok account, reaching out to the community.
Although many had seen the dog around town, no one knew if he had an owner. Jen felt compelled to step in and help the gentle giant, hoping to reunite him with his family or find him a new one.
Jen Steps In As A Temporary Foster
Shortly after taking him in, Jen brought the dog to the vet for an initial checkup. The vet revealed that the dog was a two-year-old Great Pyrenees. With no one else stepping forward, Jen decided to foster him through Columbus Rescue Dogs.
Initially, fostering seemed like a temporary solution. However, Jen found herself growing attached to the dog, whom she named Gibbous, after the bright moon that lit up the night she found him.
“If I’m being honest, I’m falling in love! He is the sweetest dog and he’s always smiling at me! So we’re getting pretty close to a foster fail here. I’m too vested in this sweet, happy gentle giant,” Jen confessed.
Every day, Gibbous became more comfortable around Jen, and it became clear that neither wanted to part ways. Their bond grew stronger with each passing moment.
Gibbous – A Pawdorable Foster Fail
After months of caring for Gibbous and preparing him for adoption, Jen made a life-changing decision. She decided to adopt Gibbous permanently, unable to imagine life without him.
Jen realized she couldn’t bear the thought of letting him go, especially since no one else had come forward to claim the wonderful dog. She was more than happy to make him a permanent member of her family.
Gibbous, too, seemed to welcome the idea. He had found a loving home and a devoted companion in Jen, who had rescued him from uncertainty and loneliness.
With Gibbous officially adopted, the duo began their new journey together. Their story is a testament to the unexpected joys and deep connections that can arise from rescuing an animal in need.
Enjoying His Unexpected Home
Life for Gibbous in his new home couldn’t be better. He enjoys his spacious yard and, more importantly, the love and care from Jen. Their bond continues to grow stronger every day.
Gibbous loves car rides, long walks, and spending quality time with Jen. His stubborn yet adorable nature often brings smiles and laughter into their daily lives.
“Life is good for this rescue foster Gibbous. He’s sooooo good at car rides, outdoor dining, and loving people,” Jen proudly shares on social media, highlighting their adventures together.
