The third day of the Saint Lucia clinic was as bustling as ever. As the team was wrapping up their day, something unexpected caught their attention.
They spotted a forlorn cardboard box next to a trash can, and their curiosity led them to investigate further. The sight inside was both heart-wrenching and heartwarming.
Charlene Penney Troubetzkoy, founder of HelpAWS, recounted, “Snuggling inside of the tiny cardboard box were five of the most adorable little puppies.”
Although Charlene has encountered numerous distressed animals, the sorrow never dulls. “No matter how many times it happens, it still makes my heart sink to look inside and see tired, scared little eyes looking back at me.”
To The Shelter
The dedicated rescue team wasted no time and swiftly transported the puppies back to their shelter for a thorough examination.
Initially, the puppies were frightened, a common reaction to their new surroundings. However, they soon understood they were in a safe place where they would be nurtured and loved.
Following their medical checkup, the puppies settled into the shelter, basking in the newfound care and attention.
Despite their close bond, each puppy was eager to find its forever home. The staff felt immense satisfaction every time one left for a new family.
Adjustment Period
The little puppies gradually adapted to the shelter environment, each day growing more comfortable and playful.
